Steve Coleman, I am a UI/UX designer located in Dublin,
Ireland, with over six years experience designing experiences for products across Fintech startups, Insurance Companies, Banking and FTB Fund Account services. I'm also a part-time lecturer for an online night course in UX Design (Dublin Coding School 2022). Please click to see older projects here.
Currently
Service Designer with Citco Group. Transformation project for their proprietary software Aexeo and a strategic review of the operating model for Fund Trader Broker- trade ingestion and fund accounting dashboards and apps/api's. Early discovery stage working in tandem with an external design agency to develop current state blueprints and mapping the user journeys. Extensive workshops, stakeholder interviews and synthesis sessions to determine the POV problem statement and roadmap development for key objectives.
UI\UX Designer @ Bank of Ireland
End to end UX/UI design for progressive web apps and web services across multiple Bank of Ireland digital products i.e “Life Advice Investments,” “Financial Wellbeing,” Group website Covid-Response, “B365 Card Controls,” “In-App Provisioning (Applepay/Google Pay)” and many other projects. As design lead facilitator for customer lab testing and technical support for all in-house qualitative research and recording, our unit manages hundreds of customer interviews and maintains the center of excellence for respondent recruitment, test scripting, affinity mapping and test result documentation/publication.
UX/UI Specialist @ Irish Life Insurance
UX/UI design and service optimisation across Irish Life’s broad digital portfolio, particularly for roadmap agile sprints throughout the marketing department. Prototyping/stagingfor products such as: “Selfie quote calculator” (Microsoft Azure facial recognition AI) and the “Point of Retirement -broker portal”, “One Plan- Family Cover” and the “Children's cost of education calculator" and a series of journey mapping workshops for the "Your Life Goals" app 2018.
Education and background
My background is quite mixed from a combination of a Production Design for Film and Theatre to Visual Art Curation. In 2010, I ventured into web design originally with Wordpress and HTML sites for art catalogues, local vendors and music groups. From there my interest in best practice User Experience design evolved.
BA Hons Degree in Digital Technologies, DIT (DSA)
Fundamental Digital Technology course with particular emphasis on Product Design and best practice UX, also with modules on front-end development and marketing strategy. Great cross collaboration modules with developers and marketeers to produce a real website for the beer brand 'Creans irish Lager'. Merit-one mark to finish the degree
H.Dip Science of Web Development, Griffith College
Object oriented server side Java/Python programming, Architecture and Operating systems. Relational Databases MySQL and PHP. Front end React JS, Flexbox, Bootstrap.
This course is yet to be completed for reassessment.
